Mummy..

She carried me with her for 9 months. She went through all the troubles of being pregnant. On 1st April 18 years ago, she was in the labour room bringing me into this world. She there after took care of me, for 18 years 1 month and 11 days and until this very second.

She held me in her arms everyday as long as she could. She took the trouble to carry me up the plane when i was a month old. She managed to take care of two small girls alone for some time when papa was away in Notthingham, UK, studying. She brought her two daughters to UK to meet up with papa. She worked part time in a tandoori shop when we were in UK to earn extra $ so that we could go travel. She worked till late at night, yet she woke up early to walk us to school. She would pick us up from school after that, by foot.

She was there on my first day of school. On my first day of kindergarten. She taught me to be independent, to sit the school bus ALONE on my first day of school. She bought cakes and prepared goodie bags for my classmates when i celebrated my birthday in school. She would pick me up from school, send me to tuition, and pick me up from tuition. She helped me with my homework. She prayed for my success.

She listened to me as i complained angrily everyday after school even though she is innocent. She would listen to my problems. She rushes from school to pick me up and send me somewhere so that i wont have to wait too long. She sides me when she thinks im right. She helps me out when things don't go right. She talks to papa to let me participate in some activities. She gives me extra good advice in anything. She took care of me when i wasn't well. She had very little sleep just to make sure i got well. She slept in the cold room without blanket because she didnt want me to freeze.

Although she wasn't always there for my competitions, i know she wants to be there. and sincerely, i prefer my family not being there for my competitions. She would offer words of comfort whenever i feel down. Yet, i raise my voice at her too many times. She always gave us extra pocket money so that we can shop. She teaches extra tuition classes so that we can have what we want. She seldom buy clothes for herself because she saves for our future. She thinks for my future and saved a whole sum so that i can pursue my dreams to study private and overseas.

She talks to us about boys. She gives advise about boys. About love. She tells us about her younger years. She is one out going lady. She lets me hang out with friends, with guys. She gets excited when she finds out that a boy is interested in us and vice versa. She even receives praises from my friends.

She brought me up well. She spends quality time with us, regardless of what people say. She gives me the freedom of choosing my friends, my religion, and my way of life. She supports me all the way. She brought up a girl who stands up for what is right. She has brought up a person who knows what is right and wrong. And for me to stand up for her, protect her image, and shield her from words of people who accuse her unreasonably comes naturally. She brought me up right.

She is an angel. She is the queen of my heart. She is none other than my beloved mummy.

As a daughter, i know i have not done much to repay what she has done for me. But yes, i'm glad i made her proud with my results and with my scholarship. Now, she can renovate the house, go shopping more often, buy things that she always wanted, go travel, and stop teaching extra tuition classes. She can finally take a break, and enjoy life. She can finally sleep soundly at night, not having to worry about my results and scholarships. She can now pray for her own well being, instead of praying for my success.

yes, i admit i took her for granted. Too many times indeed.

And today, again, i did not do anything special for her, when i am supposed to. All we did was have Japanese high tea.

But you know what, it doesnt matter. Coz its not only today that i show my love for her. Making her the happiest mummy in the world everyday is my responsibility. And i shall carry out this duty happily and faithfully.

So here, i would like to say sorry to my mummy for taking her for granted all this time. Although she will not read this post, i just want the public to know, that no one can replace this queen of my heart. And no one better DARE to hurt her. i love her more than anything in this world!

yes, i know this post is sucky and not organized, but i hope u get the message.

last but not least,

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! and sorry for always taking you for granted. i promise, no more after this!
and yes, one day, one fine day, i will make sure her dream of migrating to england comes true. i will keep my promise.

A mother is different from a mummy. A mother may have carried you for 9 months and brought u into this world, but only a mummy takes care of your and puts you ahead of her throughout her life.

so yes, im proud to say, Chuan Joon Keow is my mummy! =)

MUAHS mummy! LOVE YOU ALWAYS!
