i have to admit i haven't been reading the newspapers. but i just happen to browse through a minute ago, and there this thing najib mentioned.. 1Malaysia. i guess its something like bangsa malaysia? well, to tell the truth, i don't think that 1 malaysia/ bangsa malaysia can be achieved. seriously.
to me, if u want to create a bangsa malaysia, then there shouldn't be a column that asks "bangsa: ______" on forms. if we are all bangsa malaysia/1Malaysia, then our bangsa is MALAYSIA. not cina, melayu, india, iban, kadazan, etc. For example, indonesians are like that. they are all bangsa indonesia. but theres indonesian chinese, muslim, etc. so, Malaysians, are you willing to give up your bangsa cina, melayu, india, etc and just be called bangsa malaysia? im sorry, im not. i dont think i am treated fairly in this country. i apologise if im too straight forward, its just the truth.
so thats why JPA should send me overseas! to feel what its like overseas.. who knows, i might fall in love with Malaysia all over again! haha. but don't be mistaken, im a patriotic girl ok. its just some policies that im not happy about, and cant do anything about. =)
so, until everyone, well, majority of the citizens are willing to be called as a bangsa malaysia, stop talking about achieving things as a whole without the race barrier, i'm sorry.. but as far as Malaysia and my opinion is concerned, i dont think it will be a really successful idea.
instead, dear government, do something USEFUL with the taxpayers' money. Rather than buying that sukhoi, which to me isn't very necessary, or sending that man to space (i apologize, i don't like him, tho i know its not his fault he went to space. haha!), use the money to build better infrastructures. or maybe not. Malaysia already has 1st world infrastructures (almost), but the mindset of the rakyat is the poison.
so maybe what can be done is, help the poor and underprivileged people, the people who were not so fortunate at birth, or better still, give out more scholarships. is it THAT hard? and please, talking about belilah barangan buatan Malaysia, our MBs and those terhormat people dont even use local cars! the other day the YDP Agong was in Melaka.. and i was on the tesco bridge and i saw his car passing by. it was some seriously hot and elegant car (i would love it for myself!), and not only that, even the police cars that were escorting YDP's car were Volvos! and there wasn't only ONE, but almost FIVE! what? sigh. sometimes.. i just don't get politics.
talking about politics, money politics eh? corruption. shame on you people. supposed to set good examples for the rakyat, but end up, this is what we see. seriously im disappointed. my dad, well, the rakyat actually, pays a huge sum of money every year hoping that the government will do something beneficial for the rakyat, for the future generation, but THIS is what we get? our money swallowed by greedy people who use that money to their own benefit? who would like to live in a country like that? if theres any politican reading this, what i can say is, CHANGE people. or else soon, the rakyat will lose trust and hope in the current government. and walla.. for all you know, the next general election, whos the government? go figure. =)
don't get me wrong, despite all the FLAWS, im still proud to be Malaysian. but of course, no country is without her own imperfection. im still as patriotic as ever. i still wake up early every 31st of august to catch the merdeka parade at banda hilir. i sing my heart out to patriotic songs whenever i have the chance. i wanted to put the malaysia flag on the car but dad wont allow. i stand up and still when negaraku is being played. i respect the Jalur Gemilang. I make sure it doesn't touch the floor. i like the history of Malaysia.. tho im not good at it. i enjoy seeing P Ramlee shows. i TRY my best to support Malaysian goods. I menyahut seruan kerajaan. i don't take drugs. i dont smoke. i dont rempit. theres so much more that i do, to show my love for my country. i think thats more than enough to show that AKU ANAK MALAYSIA.
and i know. Malaysia is now depending on me. ME. Pemudi negara. as the saying goes, "pemuda harapan bangsa, pemudi tiang negara". wow, hehe.. reminds me of mr rengga! hehe!
so im prepared to fight for her. i mean, not the WAR kind la. in this century, technology is important. HUMAN CAPITAL. so here i am! ready to serve. *better still give me JPA right* haha.
