12 Minutes.

Well, because of some issues, i have been having some self confidence problems for the past few days.

With college, studies, leaving home, sacrifices, and many other minor issues, i lost my self confidence and trust in myself.

However, i just talked to my uncle (ah koo), who is now living in Australia., using Skype.

He has always been the one giving me and my sister motivation and advices on studies and life. From primary school till now, he never stopped believing in us, knowing that we will be the ones doing well.

He has been such a great man, making much difference in my life. Giving me advices about the future, to think out of the box, and to make wise decisions. I don't see him often, and im not proud to say that im not very close to him, because we live in different parts of the world. Nevertheless, i always look forward to meeting him.. and honestly i have no idea when will be my next chance to meet him.

However, there is one thing im sure about him : he has brought up his children well. My cousins.. four of them. Two are doctors, both specialist.. one an anesthetist and the other im not sure, another one a dentist, and one more an accountant. A chartered accountant, earning five digits a month, and its USD mind you.

And so i have confidence in his advices.. and just when i needed his words of wisdom, he video called me on Skype. We talked, for only 12 minutes, but that 12 minutes was all i need to get back my confidence and determination.

We chat quite alot, but the important things that made my day was him telling me :

"Well, it may be tough but with determination, you can achieve anything. And i know u have the determination in you. Since young, you have always done things differently. I know.. and i have confidence in you."

and THAT, made me much more confident. Come on, if someone tells you that at times when you are low in self esteem, its like u found your light.

And he also said, "Whatever it is, we are all very proud of you." =)

yes, it may seem simple but its very seldom i hear people telling me they are proud of me..

And one more, this is about my cousin..

"You know your cousin Elvin? Well, he did VERY well in his test. He scored a 99.8 out of 100.."
and i went .. "WOW. thats amazing! im sure i cant beat that.."
ah koo said, "No no.. Dont say that.. Im sure you can. You are at the same level as him"

and i was just.. BLANK. seriously? =)

and and.. one last one before we went off..

ah koo said, "Well, i hope to meet up with you soon.. Maybe u can come over to Australia, and this time the trip will be much better than last time.. You were so young then. Now you will enjoy more.. "
and as usual, i answered "Haha.. hopefully.. soon la.. i hope. =)"
and my ever so loveable ah koo said, "Well, pray hard i strike the lottery, and i will sponsor you to come here. =) Go anywhere you want. so lets keep our hearts crossed. "

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.. hahahahahhahaha! ok la, the last statement might never come true, but still, i think this 12 minutes conversation just made my day.. and now i can say, im ready to start college and prove that I CAN..

so, BRING IT ON BABEH!!! *winks*

Oh, and get this: i was on webcam, and ah koo said i lost weight! niahhahahahahahhaa! its such a nice day! =)
